Contact an Energy Advisor to book your residential energy assessment.
NOTE: book your assessment before you complete any home renovations. The rebates are not retroactive.
I’ve had an assessment. What is Step 3?
Begin your home renovations. You have 18 months from the time of your assessment to complete all renovations and have your Energy Advisor complete a follow-up assessment.
I’ve completed all of my home renovations. What is Step 4?
Contact an Energy Advisor for a follow-up assessment.

REBATE INFORMATION
What funding is available?
Funding is available from three sources: federal, provincial and the City of Medicine Hat's HAT Smart Program.
The HAT Smart rebates are available to homeowners who receive a City of Medicine Hat utility bill (gas; water; or electric).

What is the Canada Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC)?
The HRTC is a credit you can claim on your income tax for the renovations you complete between January 27, 2009 – February 1, 2010. It is not a rebate.

RECEIVING YOUR REBATES
I've completed all 4 Steps. How do I receive my rebates?
Your Energy Advisor will complete your report and submit it to the federal government on your behalf. You do not have to send in any application forms.
I've received my federal rebates. When do I receive my provincial rebates and my HAT Smart rebates?
The federal government will send your report to Climate Change Central to process your provincial and HAT Smart rebates on your behalf. You do not have to send in any application forms.
Are there any exceptions to this?
The provincial furnace rebate requires a separate application form.

How long will it take to receive my rebates?
Expect 8-12 weeks to process the federal rebates and a further 8-12 weeks to process the provincial and HAT Smart rebates.

When does the rebates program end?
The rebates program ends March 2011.
Your follow-up assessment must be completed within 18 months from the time you have your first assessment, or by March 31, 2011, whichever is earlier.
